2011 Legal Seminar (NCA) - Coastlands, Umhlanga

Given the success of the firm, Sanjay decided to put together a seminar dealing with a trending and pertinent legal issue. The National Credit Act, (Act 34 0f 2005), though legislated a few years ago, has still led to differing interpretations, as is evidenced by case law. This was therefore chosen as the subject of the seminar that took place 19 August 2011 at the Coastlands Hotel Umhlanga.

Having himself attended many legal seminars, and, full well knowing how easily people attending tend to get disinterested, Sanjay decided to add some excitement, glitz and glamour to his firm’s function. This meant choosing a venue that is appealing, and having a celebrity who is not only the master of ceremonies, but also someone who has the potential to become the ambassador for the firm. Sanjay decided to choose South African celebrities, possessing a cosmopolitan flair. Tatum Keshwar was his first choice. She won the Miss South Africa title in 2008 and was a finalist in both the Miss Universe and Miss World, in 2009. The firm then decided to add a further celebrity who would co-mc with Tatum, someone who would further reflect the freshness, vigour and spirit of the firm. The firm decided to go with Simba Mhere, from Top Billing.

The intent of the firm was that this seminar would open up debate on issues that hinder proper understanding and implementation of the National Credit Act.
